What is a Bouquet CSA?

Joining a CSA is a great way to support local farmers by investing early in the season. This helps the farm with upfront costs like seeds, compost, soil amendments, and other supplies. In return for your investment, you will be one of the first to receive the freshest, most beautiful flowers from our fields.

At Rabbit Crest Farms we grow many different varieties of specialty cut flowers, fillers and greenery; and lovingly cut and mingle them into our lush, colorful bouquets. Our fields are maintained using no-till practices, without chemicals, keeping the Earth and her inhabitants in mind.

By purchasing a Bouquet CSA Subscription from our farm, not only will you get our gorgeous flowers, but you will also help reduce the carbon footprint of foreign “grown and flown” big box store flowers by choosing to buy local instead. Our Bouquet Subscriptions also make a great gift!

FAQs

When and where can I pick up my bouquet subscription?

The first pick up date will be set by Mother Nature, and will be communicated to subscribers 7 - 10 days prior to the seasonal start date.  Following the first date, subsequent pick-ups will be bi-weekly.  Pick up hours are Tuesdays from 7AM – 7PM.

Pick-ups are at our farm, located in Greenville at 10 Staton Drive just off Hwy 81 between Hwy 25 (White Horse Rd) and Hwy 153 in the Welcome community.  We are just minutes from downtown Greenville!

What if I can’t pick up my flowers on the designated pick-up day/time?

If you are going on vacation or won’t be able to pick your subscription, we encourage you to send a friend or neighbor to pick up on your behalf.  We are unable to hold bouquets past the designated pick-up date/time or extend additional bouquets if you miss your pick up.  Any bouquets not picked up will be donated to a local charity of our choice.

Do you offer delivery?

Delivery is currently limited to zip codes 29611, 29601, 29605, and 29673. If you purchase a subscription and live outside of this area code please be aware you will be contacted by phone or email and your subscription may be changed to on-farm pickup or cancelled if pickup is not possible.

How does the seasonal vase work?  How does it differ from an arrangement?

Each season we will choose a seasonal vase form.  Your first wrapped bouquet will be available for pick up in shallow water in that season’s vase.  Bring your vase back with you each pick up time to assure your blooms get home securely, or keep it at home to arrange your blooms.  At the end of the season, it’s yours to keep.

Our floral arrangements are created by Rabbit Crest’s farmer florists using the subscription bouquet ingredients beautifully arranged in a curated container that is yours to keep or gift each time.  Arrangements include a cardboard delivery box to help you transport them securely.

What happens to my share if a natural disaster occurs that wipes out the flowers?

Signing up for a CSA subscription means you share in both the risk and rewards of farming with us.  Farming involves many weather and pest related risks, and consistent quantities of harvest cannot always be guaranteed.  We are constantly planning and working to plant a wide variety of both flowers and fillers, but there is the possibility we may not be able to fulfill one or more bi-weekly offerings, for which no refund would be offered.

How do I care for my flowers?

After picking up your flowers, get them into water as soon as possible.  Use sharp scissors or flower shears to give them a fresh cut and place them in clean container.  Make sure any leaves/foliage are removed below the water line, and change the water regularly to keep bacteria from clogging the stems.  You can make a DIY preservative by adding 2T lemon juice, 1T sugar and 1/2tsp bleach to 1 quart of water. Fresh flowers are happiest in a cool location that is out of direct sunlight.  Different blooms stay fresher (we call it “vase life”) longer, so if one fades remove it and rearrange your remaining stems.

What is the cancellation policy?

Prior to the subscription start date, please contact us if you are unable to fulfill your commitment.  A $25 administrative fee will be deducted from your refund.  Once the season has begun we cannot provide refunds unless there is someone on the wait list who is willing to take it over.
